Adco-Dol codeine tablets. When you buy Adco-Dol Codeine, each tablet contains 10 mg codeine phosphate, 450 mg acetaminophen, 5 mg doxylamine and 45 mg caffeine.

Adco-Dol codeine directions

Adco-Dol Codeine tablets have antipyretic, analgesic and antihistaminic properties. It is used for symptomatic relief of mild to moderate pain, pain associated with tension, and fever.

The usual dosage of Adco-Dol Codeine, in adults and in children at the age of 12 or more, is 1-2 tablets repeated four hourly if necessary. Do not exceed eight tablets per day. Adco-Dol should not be given to children under 12 years of age.

Paracetamol may cause sensitivity reactions resulting in reversible skin rash or blood disorders.

The most common side-effect of doxylamine is sedation which can vary from slight drowsiness to deep sleep, and including inability to concentrate, lassitude, dizziness, hypotension, muscular weakness and incoordination. Doxylamine may enhance the sedative effect of central nervous system depressants including alcohol, barbiturates, hypnotics, narcotic analgesics, sedatives and tranquillisers.

Adco-Dol may cause:
- Bradycardia;
- Changes of mood and miosis;

- Constipation;
- Drowsiness;
- Dry mouth;
- Facial flushing;
- Hypothermia;

Adco-Dol should be given with caution to patients with hypothyroidism, adrenocortical insufficiency, impaired liver function, prostatic hypertrophy or shock. The dosage should be reduced in elderly and debilitated persons.

Caffeine may cause restlessness, excitement, muscle tremor, tinnitus, scintillating scotoma, tachycardia and extrasystoles. Caffeine increases gastric secretions and may cause gastric ulceration.
