Trifed Indications
Trifed is indicated to treat symptoms caused by:
- Allergies;
- Flu;
- Hay fever;
- Other breathing illnesses (sinusitis bronchitis);
- The common cold;
Decongestants help relieve stuffy nose symptoms. Trifed also contains a narcotic cough suppressant (antitussive) that affects a certain part of the brain, reducing the urge to cough.
Trifed Overdose
Symptoms of overdose may include:
- Cold/clammy skin;
- Confusion;
- Fast/slow/irregular heartbeat;
- Loss of consciousness;
- Seizures;
- Slow/shallow breathing;
Trifed Side Effects
Side effects may include:
- Blurred vision;
- Constipation;
- Dizziness;
- Drowsiness;
- Dry mouth/nose/throat;
- Headache;
- Nausea;
- Upset stomach;
Symptoms of a serious allergic reaction may include:
- Itching;
- Rash;
- Severe dizziness;
- Swelling;
- Trouble breathing;
Trifed Contraindications
Trifed is contraindicated if you have:
- Acertain eye problem (glaucoma);
- Abdominal problems (chronic constipation ileus pancreatitis);
- Adrenal gland problem (Addison's disease);
- Alcohol dependence;
- Allergy to tartrazine;
- Allergy to Trifed;
- Any other allergies;
- Blood pressure changes;
- Breathing problems (asthma emphysema);
- Certain brain disorders (head injury tumor increased intracranial pressure);
- Diabetes;
- Diabetes;
- Drowsiness;
- Especially dizziness;
- Heart problems;
- High blood pressure;
- Kidney problems;
- Liver disease;
- Liver disease;
- Mental/mood changes;
- Mental/mood problems (depression psychosis);
- Seizures;
- Stomach/intestinal problems (ulcers blockage);
- Thyroid problems (hyperthyroidism hypothyroidism);
- Urination problems (trouble urinating due to enlarged prostate urinary retention);
- Use/abuse of drugs/alcohol;
Trifed Drug Reactions
Inform your pharmacist if you are taking any of the following medicines:
- Anti-seizure drugs (carbamazepine);
- Beta blockers (metoprolol atenolol);
- Certain antihistamines (diphenhydramine);
- Certain inhaled anesthetics (halothane);
- Cimetidine;
- Guanethidine;
- MAO inhibitors;
- Medicine for sleep or anxiety (alprazolam diazepam zolpidem);
- Memantine;
- Methyldopa;
- Muscle relaxants;
- Narcotic antagonists (naltrexone naloxone);
- Narcotic pain relievers (codeine);
- Other anticholinergic drugs (benztropine belladonna alkaloids);
- Psychiatric medicines (chlorpromazine risperidone trazodone);
- Reserpine;
- Scopolamine;
- Tricyclic antidepressants (amitriptyline desipramine);
