Brand name for flecainide, Tambocor is a well-known and popular composition amongst variety of antiarrhythmic drugs flooding the market. Tambocor is a magic drug for people suffering from fluctuating heartbeats. Tambocor is indicated to bring jumping heart beat at rest, giving relief to sufferers. Tambocor influences the nerve impulses reaching the heart and reduces the pace of heartbeat. This protects the cardiac tissue from being less sensitive. But Tambocor is not for all and needs to be taken with care. Physicians should prescribe Tambocor only to those who have acute and detrimental problems with their heart rhythm. In spite of its healing effects, Tambocor can lead to a lot of side effects. And if taken given to patients not having serious rhythmic problems, Tambocor intake can create complex disorders.
Tambocor Contraindications
For prescribing the right dosage to you, your doctor needs to know in details about your past and present medical conditions. Listed in FDA pregnancy category C, Tambocor is not known to cause harm to the growing fetus if taken during pregnancy. Although Tambocor is not tested on women so far, it has caused birth defects amongst animals. However, Tambocor can be dangerous for nursing babies as it passes into breast milk. So far, Tambocor is known to be risky for older patients, as they are more sensitive to such drugs and is thus not recommendable. However, the effect of Tambocor on children is not known, as it is not exhaustively tested on this age group.

Tambocor Side Effects
Intake of Tambocor may cause serious allergic reactions. Breathing trouble, closed throat, swollen lips, tongue, or face are the most serious ones. Don't ignore side effects like pacing pulse rate, acute chest pain, uneasiness in chest, cough and cold etc. as these may have serious consequences. Rush to your doctor in such cases.
Users of Tambocor may experience side effects like drowsiness, fatigue, constipation, pain in the stomach, headache, indistinct vision etc. are quite often. These are common but less harmful.
Side effects palpitation, trembling, swollen feet, yellowing of skin and eyes etc. are rare but found.
Tambocor Overdose
There is no denying the fact that Tambocor is a wonder drug. But to be on the safer side it is always better to consult a physician and be sure about what is the right dose for you. So far no serious cases of Tambocor overdose has been found. Overdose of the drug may not be detrimental to your existence but it can always cause fatal disorders. The symptoms of overdose include breathing trouble, fatigue, drowsiness, logical confusion, cardiac attack, etc. As soon as you feel that an overdose has been taken by mistake rush to a doctor for the corrective measures.
On the other hand, a missed dose of Tambocor; Try not to miss any doses of this medication. Missing doses could be very dangerous. It is better to skip the missed dose completely in order to avoid the chance of overdose and see a doctor as soon as possible.
Tambocor Missed Dose
Rely on the doctor for the right usage guidelines. However, take a dose of Tambocor with glass filled with water and with or without food. Avoid smoking habits during taking Tambocor as nicotine attacks the potential effect of Tambocor. Don't forget to store Tambocor away room heat and moisture in room temperature.
