 Simdax information

Simdax Indications

Simdax is a type of medicine that acts by increasing the capacity of your hearts ability to pump and allows the blood vessels to relax. There are cases in which the doctor can apply the medicine to lessen congestion in your lungs, making it easier for blood and oxygen to supply the organs. It can be also successful in relieving shortness of the breath, a symptom which may caused by severe heart failure. For more information about Simdax, it is better to contact a pharmacist or a specialized doctor.
Generally, Simdax is indicated to treat heart failure, or patients who have difficulties in breathing, even if they are taking certain medication to get rid of water excess from their body. It can be indicated to treat other medical conditions than those listed on the medicine's label.

Simdax Contraindications

It is recommended not to take Simdax if you are allergic to any ingredients in it, or to levosimendan, which is the main component of the drug, if you have severe low blood pressure, abnormal heart rate, severe kidney disease, liver disease, heart conditions, or you suffer from Torsades de Pointes. There are cases in which a person presents atrial fibrillation or decreased levels of potassium inside the blood, and in these cases, Simdax has to be administered with great care. If any of these apply to you, it is better to stop taking Simdax and contact a doctor. It must not be administered to children under 18 years. It is very important to inform the doctor if you are taking any medicines, especially over the counter drugs, because the medicine can increase their effects, making them dangerous. If you also have received certain heart medicines intravenously, the use of this kind of drug can drop your blood pressure. It is recommended not to use Simdax if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, because it can cause harm to the unborn baby. The medicine also has the capacity to pass into the breast milk, so if you are breast feeding it is better to stop taking the medicine and contact a doctor for further instructions.

Simdax Intake Guidelines

Simdax must be taken precisely as the doctor directed without changing anything, also checking the medicine's label. Usually, it is administered as an infusion directly into the veins; this procedure must be done in a hospital, in order to be closely monitored. The amount of medicine that is usually given is decided by the doctor, measuring the patient's heart rate, blood pressure, and performing an EKG. Depending on the severity of the condition and your general health status, the doctor can adjust the dose, achieving maximum benefits. The medicine is usually administered in two stages: one is fast, over ten minutes, followed by a slower one that can last over 24 hours. The infusion can be decreased depending on your blood pressure. If you experience symptoms such as rapid heart beat or lightheadedness it is better to contact the doctor for emergency medical attention. After the infusion is stopped, its effect can last over seven days. For more information about the intake guidelines of Simdax, it is better to consult a pharmacist or a specialized doctor.

Simdax Dosage

It is very important to take Simdax exactly as the doctor indicated, without changing the dose. Taking too much of the medicine can increase the risk of overdosing, that can worsen your condition. Try to follow each direction indicated by the doctor, so that you can report increased improvement. Usually, the dose of Simdax is administered differently depending on the severity of the condition, or your general health status.

The most common signs of an overdose include decreased blood pressure and increased heart beat. It is better to contact the doctor as soon as possible, because if the symptoms are not treated at the right time, they can become life threatening.

Do not double the dose to replace the missed one, because you can risk an overdose. If you miss a dose of Simdax you can also contact the doctor for further instructions.

Simdax Side Effects

Along with the benefic effects, Simdax can also cause certain unwanted side effects. These manifestations are usually minor and go away as the treatment evolves, but some of them can become serious, requiring medical attention.
