Calcidrine Indications
Calcidrine is indicated for relief of cough symptoms and as an expectorant (to loosen phlegm).
Calcidrine Side Effects
Side effects may include:
- Constipation;
- Dizziness;
- Drowsiness;
- Easy bruising;
- Eye irritation;
- Fever;
- Hand or foot swelling;
- Heat intolerance;
- Itching;
- Joint aches;
- Metallic taste;
- Nausea;
- Rapid pulse;
- Shallow or difficult breathing;
- Skin rash;
- Sore or swollen mouth;
- Vomiting;
Calcidrine Contraindications
Calcidrine is contraindicated if you have:
- Thyroid;
- Shellfish (iodine food allergies);
- Lung or liver disease or drug dependency;
- Iodism;
- Drug allergies;
- Blood vessel (vasculitis);
- Any allergies;
Calcidrine Drug Reactions
Inform your pharmacist if you are taking any of the following medicines:
- Anesthetic barbiturates (thiopental);
- Antithyroid drugs (propylthiouracil-PTU);
- Anxiety medicine (diazepam);
- Barbiturates (primidone phenobarbital);
- Certain antihistamines (diphenhydramine);
- Cimetidine;
- Lithium;
- Muscle relaxants (cyclobenzaprine);
- Narcotic pain relievers (morphine codeine pentazocine);
- Psychiatric medications;
- Sedatives;
- Sleeping medication;
- Tranquilizers;
