Biotussin Indications
Biotussin is indicated to:
- Nasal and sinus congestion;
- Reduce chest congestion caused by the common cold infections or allergies;
- Treat cough;
Biotussin Side Effects
Side effects may include:
- Difficulty breathing;
- Hives;
- Swelling of your face lips tongue or throat;
- Cold clammy skin;
- Confusion unusual thoughts or behavior;
- Constipation;
- Dizziness or headache;
- Easy bruising or bleeding unusual weakness fever chills body aches flu symptoms;
- Fast pounding or uneven heartbeat;
- Feeling excited or restless;
- Increased blood pressure (severe headache blurred vision trouble concentrating chest pain numbness seizure);
- Nausea vomiting upset stomach mild loss of appetite;
- Seizure (convulsions);
- Severe dizziness anxiety restless feeling or nervousness tremors;
- Shallow breathing slow heartbeat;
- Skin rash or itching;
- Sleep problems (insomnia);
- Warmth tingling or redness under your skin;
Biotussin Contraindications
Biotussin is contraindicated if you have:
- A history of drug or alcohol addiction;
- A history of head injury or brain tumor;
- A thyroid disorder;
- Addison's disease or other adrenal gland disorders;
- Asthma COPD sleep apnea or other breathing disorders;
- Diabetes;
- Enlarged prostate urination problems;
- Epilepsy or other seizure disorder;
- Gallbladder disease;
- Heart disease or high blood pressure;
- Liver or kidney disease;
- Low blood pressure;
- Mental illness or;
Biotussin Drug Reactions
Inform your pharmacist if you are taking any of the following medicines:
- Isocarboxazid (Marplan);
- MAO inhibitor;
- Phenelzine (Nardil);
- Rasagiline (Azilect);
- Selegiline (Eldepryl Emsam);
- Tranylcypromine (Parnate);
